The mission of the Golden Vines™ Awards is to help further diversity and inclusion in the wine industry. At the Golden Vines™ Awards Ceremony & Dinner, held at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on May 4th, and presented by WineCanada, WineBC, and the BC Liquor Distribution Branch, industry leaders from across BC, Canada, and around the world, celebrated the best of BC winemaking and wine region diversity. JULY 2021 | LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – Rolls-Royce, Gucci, Virgin Galactic, VistaJet, Julius Baer and The Macallan are just some of the world-class sponsors who have chosen to support The Golden Vines™ Charity Awards Ceremony and Dinner, which will take place on Thursday, 7. October 2021 will be held at Annabel’s private club.
Organized by Liquid Icons, a wine research and content production company founded by the late great Gerard Basset OBE MW MS and his friend Lewis Chester DipWSET, all proceeds from the event and associated auctions will be donated to the Gerard Basset Wine Education Charitable Foundation to fund wine education programs focused on diversity and inclusion around the world, including the Taylor’s Port Golden Vines Diversity Scholarships. The fund hopes to raise more than £1 million.
The Golden Vines Awards recognize the world’s best wine producers, as voted for by fine wine industry leaders in the Gerard Basset Global Fine Wine Report. This year, 442 industry leaders, including 57 master winemakers and 31 master sommeliers, and 80 wine press representatives participated in the voting. The results of Deloitte’s independent assessment will be presented at the Golden Vines Awards ceremony on the 7th. October announced.

The Golden Vines Awards Ceremony and Dinner will feature world-renowned artists, the world’s most renowned gospel choir and several special guest DJs. Chantelle Martin, who created the artwork for the Golden Vines trophy, will present artwork for the Gerard Bassett Charitable Foundation during the Christie’s live auction, as well as lots donated by sponsors and friends of the Golden Vines event. In addition, the auction of fine wines, rare spirits and Golden Vines experiences will be offered as a global online auction with an e-brochure incorporating WPA technology that allows bidding from around the world. The auction opens on Thursday, September 23 and closes on the evening of the Golden Vines Awards ceremony and dinner on Thursday, September 7. October. Each auction lot will feature great or rare wines, as well as what money can’t buy, from many of the world’s finest wineries and distilleries.
