April 12 – The International Vinitali Academy welcomed 5 new certified Italian wine ambassadors to its community this week, recognizing 235 ambassadors and experts worldwide. Today, VIA returns to its flagship Verona venue and one of Italy’s largest wine markets, the United States, with hybrid editions featuring online conferences and remote in-person tastings.

In his 18th. The Vinitaly International Academy (VIA), now in its 15th year, is the reference for Italian wine training. This is a comprehensive approach to the study of Italian wine that not only focuses on the appellation, but also covers a wide range of local grape varieties and provides an in-depth look at the history, culture and philosophies that have shaped the long history of Italian wine. As Pedro Ballesteros MW said: Italy is one of the most fascinating wine countries, full of jewels to discover, full of historical experiences to understand, full of flavors to smell and remember, full of subtleties to observe, full of visions to share. VIA offers a unique opportunity to gain this valuable knowledge.

One of VIA’s main goals is to continually expand the ecosystem. In this way, the faculty and staff at VIA have created a strong and engaged community that is lacking at many wine colleges. In addition, as an ambassador or a community of experts, you can receive the latest information on Italian wines from Professor Attilio Scienza, as well as excursions and access to producers and wineries in the region. Additionally, once certified as an Ambassador or Expert, it is possible to qualify as an Italian Wine Educator, an additional qualification that allows participants to teach the VIA Preparatory Course Italian Wine Maestro.

The next class is on the 18th. This will be the 10th edition of the VIA Italian Wine Ambassador Course, which returns to Verona for a new flagship edition. This new flagship course will be the first to use a flexible format where online theory instruction continues, but students meet in Verona to be guided by faculty members through guided tasting and question and answer sessions before the exam.

Later in 2021, VIA will return to offer courses in the United States. Previously they were restricted to certain cities, but now, with a reformed and flexible course, applications can be accepted from across the country, broadening the reach like never before and providing opportunities to more students than ever before. In a more flexible format, VIA USA will combine on-demand online theory sessions with in-person tasting sessions offered at tasting rooms across the United States in July.

This revamped course truly shows VIA at its best, as evidenced by the enthusiasm of the participants: The release of Vinitaly Academy Agile has made the impossible possible: It made us feel part of the VIA community during this difficult time. I was able to feel surrounded by my classmates, share my passion for Italian wine, and feel close to the heart of Italy through my screen! I was completely overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and knowledge of the excellent Italian wine experts Henry Dawar and Sarah Heller MW !!!!. Roddy Ropner IWA.

Recruitment for both courses is now open and candidates can apply via: or for more information email: [email protected]
