http://server.digimetriq.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Southern-Glazers-Signs-Agreement-to-Acquire-Epic-Wines-Spirits.jpgMIAMI and DALLAS, February 8, 2020 – Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (Southern Glazer’s), one of the world’s leading distributors of spirits, today announced the signing of a national distribution agreement with Foley Family Wines (FFW), a family-owned luxury wine company. Through this national agreement, Foley Family Wines will leverage Southern Glazer’s national reach, unmatched marketing capabilities and its industry-leading Proof® e-commerce platform to enhance FFW’s business performance and expand its growing portfolio of luxury brands. In conjunction with this national distribution agreement, Southern Glazer has signed definitive agreements to acquire certain assets of California-based Epic Wine & Spirits (Epic), subject to customary closing conditions.

This new direction coincides with the launch of Southern Glazer’s new craft wine and spirits strategy, which aims to improve market access and customer service for our foodservice, fine wine and craft spirits partners.

“This is a new era for Foley Family Wines following their recent acquisition of Ferrari-Carano, as they seek to accelerate the growth of their world-class wine portfolio in the United States,” said Wayne E. Chaplin, CEO of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. “Our two family-owned companies are committed to working together, building on past successes, further developing their great brands and creating lasting and successful partnerships for the future.”

“The expansion of our relationship with Foley Family Wines reinforces our commitment to the premium wine category, which we hope to continue to develop,” adds Gene Sullivan, director of sales and marketing for Southern Glazer’s wine and spirits division. “We remain committed to developing a dynamic, high-quality wine business, while at the same time striving to achieve the best possible results for Foley Family Wines’ portfolio of premium brands.

“As FFW’s portfolio of luxury brands continues to grow, it is essential that we work with a wholesale partner that has broad access to the market,” said Bill Foley, CEO of Foley Family Wines and Epic Wines & Spirits. “This national alignment with Southern Glazer’s gives FFW unparalleled access to a customer base that will catapult FFW toward our goal of becoming a leading producer of premium wines.

“The national partnership with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is the next step for Foley Family Wines,” said Shawn Schiffer, President of Foley Family Wines. “We believe the scale and strategies of Southern Glazer’s leading company position Foley Family Wines for exponential growth.”
