Winemaking in the beautiful state of California is a large part of a family’s lifestyle, whether they are in the Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, or one of the other wine regions. This family-run winery has been in business since 1925, and they are passionate about their wines and the family recipe. The newly remodeled tasting room is close to the 120 acre vineyard overlooking the Napa Valley floor, and has a large patio that can be the perfect place for a tasting event.. The big family wine tasting is scheduled for Sunday the 22nd. August, planned for San Francisco

Sacramento, CA (July 2, 2021) – Family Winemakers of California, an association of California family wineries, is pleased to announce the date of the 2021 San Francisco Tasting.  The tasting event for professionals and consumers returns to San Francisco this year and takes place on Sunday, August 22, again at Midway – 900 Marin Street.  This site is located in the SF – Dogpatch development area.  According to Pete Downs, president of Family Winemakers of California, the tasting will feature about 65 producers from small California family wineries, presenting 300 different wines.

The pandemic proved to be very difficult for many small wineries, as many of them sold their wines only to restaurants or depended on visitors in their tasting rooms – both of which were hit hard by the cessation of winemaking in California.  Our member wineries are eager to bring their delicious wines back to the bottle – for consumers and especially for retailers who are picking up business and looking to expand their wine lists.  Many of these award-winning and highly regarded wines will be tasted for the first time in the San Francisco area.  This tasting is always a success and this year was even more in demand as people have not been able to attend these events for over a year.  It is the ideal way to get to know the owners and winemakers who produce these wonderful wines.  The passionate winemakers who create these small production wines make our tasting truly special.  Wineries will offer many hard-to-find wines, often served by the winemakers or owners themselves, Downs adds.  Our customers are looking for a different type of event where they can discover the best wines that are not widely available, and where they have the opportunity to speak directly with the winemaker or owner of the winery and learn firsthand about the family traditions and history behind the bottled wines.  They also enjoy the atmosphere of our events.  We are happy to be here this year and to be able to do what we all love so much.

The San Francisco Tasting 2021 will open on Sunday, August 22 at noon for special ticket buyers and at 2 p.m. for the general public. The tasting is intended for sales representatives and demanding consumers.  The event ends at 17:00.  It is also worth mentioning that you can order your favorite wines the same day with home delivery, so you can enjoy them later.  If you want to participate in their wine clubs, you can also register for this event.

Consumer tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at https://www.tixr.com/groups/midwaysf/events/family-winemakers-tasting-26746.

A regular consumer ticket for $45 and a ticket for $65 will allow access to the tasting, which begins at noon.  These prices are for presales; at the box office, prices go up to $50 and $70.

For participants traveling by air, the nearest airports are San Francisco International Airport (SFO), approximately 11 miles away, and Oakland Metropolitan International Airport (OAK), approximately 21.5 miles away.  There is ample parking in the vicinity of the venue, both on the street and in the public.

FAMILY WINEMAKERS OF CALIFORNIA

Family Winemakers of California was founded in 1990 in response to the need for public policy involvement by California’s small wine producers.  The association has become a powerful force in the wine industry by standing up for the rights of wine producers and counts more than 350 California wineries among its active members.   This is the 30th year we have hosted tastings for our member wineries.
